| |
What motivates you and what does it take for you to find motivation? Are you doing what it takes to achieve personal success? These are a few questions you have to ask yourself everyday and you must find out what it is that motivates you. When I was a child, my grandfather would tell me "son you can do anything you want do in life, but first you must want to do it" I never understood what he meant by that until I joined the military. If you really want to do things in life you must first have the motivation to get it done. Without motivation you will fail at everything you attempt to achieve. |

They say that we will never really know what we have until it’s gone. So, shall we wait for some things to disappear before we appreciate them? Not exactly. In fact, the mind can and should be trained to focus on the brighter things in life, no matter how little or uninteresting they are, so that negative thoughts shall not succeed in creating an undesirable future for us. |

MyCityToronto - Listening As Though The Other Person Might Be Right

Listening as though the other person might be right is a skill we can learn that enriches our quality of life.
What is right or wrong, good or bad, is so often a local, current opinion that is nothing more than an aspect of normal behaviour at a particular time in a particular place. In other words, morality ethics, customs, laws and even the courtesy of good manners are things that vary geographically and from age to age. |

How Gore, Powell, Rumsfeld and other multi-millionaires stand to benefit from swine flu hysteria…The well-known detective’s injunction to “follow the money” can apply equally well to investigations of flu epidemics as it can to conventional criminal investigations. Indeed, as surprising as it may be to some, there are people in positions of power and influence who stand to directly benefit from the current swine flu hysteria. |

MyCityToronto - Barbaric Israel
Published : May 05, 2009 | Author : from Article City | Unrated |

A nation that has violated “every norm of civilized behavior and international law” since its founding in 1948 is held virtually blameless by the U.S. corporate media – Israel sycophants of the lowest order. “Now members of the Israeli Defense Force themselves are coming forward to admit that they committed war crimes” – but the U.S. press is censoring their confessions! Even when Israeli soldiers openly testify to committing “murder” in Gaza, as reported by the Israeli press, the U.S. corporate media “keeps the people of this country ignorant” of the crimes against humanity bankrolled by American taxpayers. |

The extent of Israel’s brutality against Palestinian civilians in its 22-day pounding of the Gaza Strip is gradually surfacing. Israeli soldiers are testifying to lax rules of engagement tantamount to a license to kill. One soldier commented: “That’s what is so nice, supposedly, about Gaza: You see a person on a road, walking along a path. He doesn’t have to be with a weapon, you don’t have to identify him with anything and you can just shoot him.” |

MyCityToronto - The IMF: Raping The World, One Poor Nation at a Time…
Published : May 05, 2009 | Author : from Article City | Unrated |
|
| |
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has been described as one of the enforcers of globalization. Nations who receive IMF assistance are often forced to surrender more sovereignty and further open up their borders to international banks and multinational corporations. Much of their wealth is then sucked dry by foreign predators with its resources and population essentially becoming the collateral for such financial aid. As a result of the global economic crisis, many more nations are having to turn to the IMF for help. At the recent G-20 Summit in London, the IMF’s role was expanded and its powers enhanced. There was little mention of its failed policies and its less then stellar record of effectively promoting development and democracy around the world. While some talk of reform, the IMF continues to rape the world, one poor nation at a time. |

MyCityToronto - Obama’s 100 days - the mad men did well…
Published : May 05, 2009 | Author : from Article City | Unrated |

The BBC’s American television soap Mad Men offers a rare glimpse of the power of corporate advertising. The promotion of smoking half a century ago by the “smart” people of Madison Avenue, who knew the truth, led to countless deaths. Advertising and its twin, public relations, became a way of deceiving dreamt up by those who had read Freud and applied mass psychology to anything from cigarettes to politics. Just as Marlboro Man was virility itself, so politicians could be branded, packaged and sold. |

The good news for the new year is as follows...
January: Tony Blair is arrested at Heathrow Airport as he returns from yet another foreign speaking engagement (receipts since leaving office: £12m). He is flown to The Hague to stand trial for war crimes for his part in the illegal, unprovoked attack on a defenceless country, Iraq, justified by proven lies, and for the subsequent physical, social and cultural destruction of that country, causing the death of up to a million people. According to the Nuremberg Tribunal, this is the "paramount war crime". The prosecution tells Blair's defence team it will not accept a plea of "sincerely believing". Cherie Blair, a close collaborator who has compared her husband with Winston Churchill, is cautioned. |

America has become a confusing place for many people who are trying to decipher through the mess of politics that is inherent in a huge country that touts democracy. The Critical Review’s (No. 1 Vol. 19) article Ignorance as a Starting Point: From Modest Epistemology to Realistic Political Theory states that a new elitist political paternalism may be necessary to counter the general ignorance of the population. In other words, brighter minds need to make decisions for people. |

MyCityToronto - Why Do We Trust Politicians
Published : May 05, 2009 | Author : from Article City | Unrated |

I was looking over some political polls recently and noticed the approval ratings of Congress are dismally low, 13-37% depending on the poll you read. Offhand, this would indicate we do not believe they are doing the job we elected them to do, and a violation of our trust. But America is not alone in this regards; in the reports I read, politicians around the world are generally not trusted. |
